Kelly Clarkson’s single “What Doesn’t Kill You (Stronger)” from her fifth studio album “Stronger” took the #1 spot on the Billboards 100 this week.

It’s been nearly a decade since the 29-year-old Texan was crowned the very first winner of the singing competition series American Idol. The road to fame wasn’t an easy one for Kelly.

She moved to L.A. then moved back home unable to get a record label’s attention. American Idol made her a household name.

Clarkson stated that “What Doesn’t Kill You (Stronger)” song was inspired by a Friedrich Nietzsche quote:

That which does not kill us makes us stronger.

The song’s lyrics are about empowerment and an anthem for recovery after the end of a bad relationships.

“Stronger” is Kelly Clarkson’s third #1 hit song. The success of the hit single made Clarkson the first artist ever to have topped the Hot 100 and each of Billboard’s Dance/Club Play Songs, Country Songs, Adult Contemporary and Adult Pop Songs charts.

Pop/rock, dance-rock, electricopop “Stronger” song was written by Jörgen Elofsson, Ali Tamposi, David Gamson, and Greg Kurstin.

In the “Stronger” music video Clarkson incorporated a global flash mob by her fans.

With each album Kelly Clarkson is getting stronger!
